02 / DETAIL

At DTE, we are fully committed to ensuring the health and safety of all our stakeholders.

Our customers and insurers often tell us that the company’s internal systems are among the best in the industry, as we have developed leading initiatives to make employees, customers, site workers and haulage drivers safe.

As accidents at work in the construction industry continue to make for alarming reading, we have been focused on improving the safety of the industry's biggest risk areas, including working at height and unloading roof trusses.

We have put a number of significant safety measures in place to prevent the risks associated with unloading trusses. We can supply trusses pre-slung, which means no-one gets on to the lorry to unload. The slings are placed in the correct position in the factory, reducing risks of slingers putting them in the wrong position, and once they are on the roof the slings are cut off.

03 / SAFETY LEADERSHIP

Safer in the factory and on site

Health and safety shapes how we manufacture, load and deliver. Much of what is now standard practice across the industry started as an initiative to protect the people handling our products.

Safer offloading

Pre-slung trusses keep people off the back of the lorry.

Working at height

Panelised gables reduce the time spent building at roof level.
